Inverters, Controllers monitors

WHAT AN INVERTER CAN DO FOR YOU

An inverter silently changes 12 volt from batteries to 120 volt AC to operate common household appliances and tools. The main benefits of an inverter powered system are: convenience, instant reliable AC power without noise, fumes or vibration and real savings in fuel and maintenance as opposed to using an engine run generator. An inverter extends the useful life of a generator.

The basic RV electrical system uses DC light, TV and water pump from a couple RV/Marine batteries. You can improve on you electrical independence by adding an inverter. Add a couple of batteries, a high output alternator or solar panels and you have greatly enhanced your RV's power system for total electrical independence.

The inverter sends AC power to outlets to run most appliances, color TV, VCR and satellite, vacuum cleaner, power tools, microwave oven and computer. You can use these appliances late at night or early AM when generator noise is not acceptable. What more could you want?

BUILT-IN BATTERY CHARGER:  Our inverters function as a superior battery charger that automatically TRANSFERS when the generator starts or stops, to supply AC to the plugs in your rig 24 hours a day.

REMOTE CONTROL PANEL:  This one item makes the whole system respond at your finger tips. Conveniently located inside the rig, the control panel prevents the loss of valuable battery power when AC is not needed, like at night. There is a selection of monitors available that can measure volts, amps and other values.

INVERTER POWER OUTPUT:  There is Modified wave and Pure Sine Wave inverters available with high efficiency and regulated voltage for even the most sophisticated appliance. Surge power watts are exceptionally high for short burst to start large appliances and motors. Low idle current is important when the unit is waiting for you to turn that appliance on without wasting battery energy.

BATTERY RESERVE STORAGE:  Large loads like a microwave oven require sufficient battery power to cause cooking. We have found that 3 or four batteries are necessary for microwaves. Golf cart batteries are superior for long life and deep cycle use.

MODIFIED SINE WAVE TYPE INVERTER CHARGERS

These units are extensively used in RV setups. The advanced technology makes these units cost effective, over 90% efficient and reliable. The clean AC power can run most RV appliances except Dewalt & First Alert battery chargers, some GFI plugs, Laser and copy machines and a few other specialized equipment. Inverters manufactured by.

VOLTAGE REGULATION & METERING

Every RV solar system needs the battery protection of a voltage regulator and a monitor to show battery state-of-charge. The regulator and meter can be purchased as separate units or in a COMBINATION regulator with meters built-in to conserve space, quicker installation and at a reduced cost.

BASIC REGULATORS are available in 8, 16, 20, 35 and 40 amp size to match the peak output of the panels. Usually they can be located near the battery bank for ideal operation. Call to find out the recommended unit for your RV.

MONITORS include amp and volt meters. Your RV may already have a quality digital volt meter built-in. The TRACE METER 500 has a special type of capability. You can select Amps in or out of the battery, state-of-charge (volts) plus Amp hours. This is the net result of the meter counting up and down to show how much remains in the battery.

TRACE METER 500A
A very sophisticated instrument.
• Includes 500 Amp sensor for negative wire
• Volts, Amps, AH & much more
• Easy to hookup
• Includes 50 ft phone type cable and plug in.
• Keeps track of battery bank capacity remaining.
• Keeps track of charging history.

If your RV is "solar pre-wired" at the factory, you may elect to use a basic regulator and separate TM 500 meter setup since it is often difficult to access the solar cable hidden inside the RV walls. The solar wire thus goes from the roof to the battery compartment.

If you are installing a new solar cable through the fridge vent, then it is desirable to use the COMBINATION REGULATOR with BUILT-IN METERS. With one simple connection point you ca n locate the meters and regulator in the wall beside the RV fridge.

COMBINATION REGULATORS with built-in METERS

These units combine the benefits of solar regulator with integrated meters for fully automatic operation. Analog and digital indicators are switch-selected. They have similar features and either may be included in our solar systems.

Heilotrope RV-30

• Digital black anodized panel
• Large LCD read out
• 100% solid state pwm design
• Flush mount (box optional)
• 30 Amp capacity regulator

Optional Sensor Fuse Kit for 200A load channel includes 200A sensor, connectors & wire

How the Optional Sensor Fuse Kit works
The optional sensor is located near the battery. Amps show on the large LCD display, how much is recharging and how much is being used. For example: if the microwave, operated from inverter power, shows 116 Amps OUT of the battery you will not run it needlessly. It shows how much goes back into the battery when the generator & charger are working. Great trouble-shooter for entire coach electrical system.
